My advise is to start with earlier versions and move up from there as the install program will find any newer versions on your computer and install them instead. I will print out every single post.. From what I’ve read the composite into S-video adaptor doesn’t matter as it’s not an S-Video signal, it’s a composite signal going into an s-video adaptor. It’s discussed in this thread. Then capture using one of the preferred capture options.

I thought all the XPRO cards had the same features. Be sure you’re using the right disc.
There’s no other option I checked the preferences to change it and didnt see any other place to alter it. But when I try to capture with Vegas, it tells me the device is not started or not available. Have you ever gotten one of the AVI codecs to work? I see your point regards the broken cable, but even with no cable connected to the PC I get the same grey bars and rolling as Avstfeam mentioned in my original post.

The issue was caused by the need to have both Video and Audio signal as input to Roxio Media Import, while for testing purposes I was using only the video signal. It can be an internal card or an external USB device or a pass through with a digital camcorder. And the ATI documentation on capturing is vague. Do you have on board graphics or, if you don’t know, what motherboard do you have? In the case b if I ask to save the file it is created but it is empty.
Anyone have an idea?
Capturing with ATI AIW Card
You may be blocked if you misuse this feature! I don’t remember the details, but if there is some option or checkbox to say that you can ALWAYS use an external app you probably don’t want to cappture that. Sometimes a reinstall is necessary. Where are you directing the input? That a multimeter shows you had incorrectly connected pins suggests you may have been doing the same thing, albeit unintentionally.
The result was rolling horizontal grey bars I’m connected into the correct connector on the S-Video adaptor as there is an arrow on one of the yellow plugs pointing down the cable meaning ‘input’. The bios message is gone I’ve used the AIW for capure. And I remember spending days and days to fix it If that’s the case, why do you have the card’s input set to composite?
