ATI’s “Detect and install” does not work, while the Catalyst driver for x simply states that it has failed to install. I have the same sort of question, but with nvidia drivers. I guess only one way to find out for nvidia hardware install and break it! Windows 7’s Windows Update had a x driver for bootcammp, I did not see one in Windows 8. I assume it’s barfing ’cause it knows it’s Mac hardware.

In an emergency, you have to boot in safe mode. And I was wondering if installing the new What drivers did you install, none? This botocamp have something to do with x now being on their legacy version of Catalyst Control Center.
Other drivers work camera, bluetooth but the driver for x still won’t. Desktops Speciality level out of ten: By default, they installed the Mobility Radeon drivers.

I tried emailing ATI support, but got nothing. Frigidman, on October 18th I’m not sure that I notice a huge difference, but at least the games aren’t nagging me any more.

I know 8 is officially “unsupported” but it should detect video cards, right?
Reply Helpful Thread reply – more options Link to this Post. Remember me This is not recommended for shared computers. The bootcamp drivers seem to work fine otherwise, but do not fix this problem.
Now everything’s working, like magic! But as I’ve been assured that it’s not a Mobility chip, I went in and added the ‘Radeon x’ driver there were two listed; I chose the first one. I tried to be a clever monkey and just install the drivers by force via the Device Manager.
